Welcome to Pack 79!
As parents, we all want to see our children grow into confident, kind, and capable individuals. Cub Scouting is more than just an extracurricular activity; it’s a hands-on program designed to bring out the best in kids while strengthening the bond between parents and their children. Through adventures big and small, Cub Scouting builds character, teaches life skills, and encourages service to others in a supportive, family-friendly environment.
Pack 79 offers a year-round program for boys in kindergarten through fifth grade. With around 50 active Scouts, we’re a vibrant and welcoming community where families come together to learn, explore, and have fun. From weekend campouts and community service projects to exciting pack events and den activities, there’s always something going on, no matter the season.
If you’re looking for something meaningful that you and your child can do together, we invite you to join Pack 79. We’d love to welcome your family into our Cub Scout adventure.
Our Chartered Organization
Our chartered organization is Chatham-Auburn Memorial VFW Post 4763. The close relationship between the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Scouting America dates back over 100 years
when VFW Post 2100 teamed up with another civic
organization to establish Troop 1 in Everett,
Washington. This century-long affiliation has fostered
true patriotism, community service and strong, moral
character throughout the ensuing decades. During World
Wars I and II, Scouts played a major part in helping
collect food and other items to support the troops in the
war. Since that time, Scouting has continued to be a
supporter of the VFW, and many VFW members were Scouts in their youth.
All Scouting organizations provide a first-class youth
development and education program. The VFW is an ideal organization to
incorporate the Cub Scout program into support for youth
in our community. By chartering our pack, VFW Post 4763 has the
opportunity to work in partnership with Cub Scout Pack 79 to positively
affect the lives of boys in our local area while expanding community outreach and developing a clear
resource for veterans' families and their children. Cub Scout Pack 79 takes pride in this partnership and thanks Chatham-Auburn Memorial VFW Post 4763 for their support!
