Cub Scout Uniforms

Not sure what to buy? You can view the uniforms for each age group on the Scouting America website.

Scouting uniforms help to create a sense of belonging. Through decades of experience, Scouting America has discovered many benefits to uniforming, including these:

Equality. The uniform represents a democratic ideal of equality. People from various cultures and different economic levels wear the same uniform and cooperate as equals.

Identification. The uniform identifies boys as a member of the Cub Scouts. Badges on the uniform tell other members that he belongs to their den, pack, and council. The uniform itself identifies a good citizen to the entire community.

Achievement. The uniform displays badges and other awards so the accomplishments of each Cub Scout can be immediately recognized.

Commitment. Wearing a uniform is a constant reminder to each Cub Scout of his commitment to the ideals and purposes of Cub Scouting.

Class A Uniforms

The Class A uniform consists of several official Cub Scout clothing items. Items needed for each age group can be viewed here. You can order uniforms online at the Scout Shop website or visit our local Scout Shop in Springfield (see address below). Class A uniforms are worn at pack meetings, ceremonies, parades, and other functions in public. You will be notified when Class A uniforms will be mandatory.

Patches

The Class A uniform will require several patches. Patches can be purchased from the Scout Shop online or by visiting our local Scout Shop in Springfield (see address below).  Cub Scouts will need their den numeral, council shoulder emblem, pack numeral, world crest, and rank badges. For help with placement of the patches, view the pictures and descriptions in the Uniform Inspection Sheet

Class B Uniforms

Class B uniforms consist of shirts that might be t-shirts or sweatshirts. These shirts are worn during pack activities that are more physical (hikes, bike rides, etc.) or casual. Pack 79 Class B clothing will be available for order from the pack. You will be notified when Class B uniforms should be worn.
